Real Estate team advises private Melbourne developer OUSON Group on World Trade Centre acquisition

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised the OUSON Group on its acquisition of Towers 2, 3 and 4 of the World Trade Centre in Melbourne’s Docklands, with contracts exchanged and settlement due in the first half of 2017.

The WTC was acquired for A$267.5 million from the Abacus Property Group and joint venture partners - private equity firm KKR and privately-owned Riverlee Group.

Nabarro advises Great Portland Estates on £435m sale of Rathbone Square, London

A Nabarro team has advised Great Portland Estates on its £435m sale of Rathbone Square, 35/50 Rathbone Place off Oxford Street in London’s West End. The development has been bought by Rathbone Place Jersey Limited, an entity owned by WestInvest Gesellschaft Für Investmentfonds mbH and Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH.

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Star Mountain Plaza Limited on a Papua New Guinea Kina 245,000,000 (AU$100.6 million) financing from Bank of South Pacific for the construction and operation of its substantial Star Mountain Plaza development in Port Moresby.

Norton Rose Fulbright acted on all corporate and shareholder arrangements involving a joint venture between three major PNG entities - Mineral Resources Star Mountain, Mineral Resources Ok Tedi and Petroleum Resources Kutubu Limited. The firm also acted on the major construction aspects of the project.

First post housing white paper planning appeal granted by secretary of state

Shoosmiths has advised IM Land on securing a successful planning appeal for a major residential and mixed-use scheme, the first to be approved since the publishing of the government's housing white paper.

Plans to build 750 new homes at Curborough, near Lichfield, have been approved by Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Sajid Javid.

Addleshaw Goddard advises on the purchase of landmark building - One Kingdom Street, London

Addleshaw Goddard has advised Hong Kong investor, C C Land Holdings on its acquisition of One Kingdom Street, London, from TH Real Estate on behalf of the Cityhold Office Partnership (CHOP) for £292m.

Located in Paddington Central, the Grade A, 264,898sq ft office building, is home to tenants including Vodafone, Shire, Mysis and Statoil and was sold at a net initial yield of 4.86% and a capital value of £1,100 per sq ft.

WFW advises Grivalia Properties on €50m loan facility

The Athens office of international law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Greek-listed Grivalia Properties REIC (“Grivalia”), on a long-term €50m loan facility from the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), a part of the World Bank Group. This is one of first long-term finance transactions undertaken by IFC in Greece since it re-engaged with the country in 2015.
