Hill Dickinson advises Peel L&P on joint property venture

Leading commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised Peel Land and Property (Peel L&P) on a joint venture with Urban Splash, to bring modular urban living to Wirral Waters, the UK’s largest regeneration project by consented floorspace.

The transaction was led by corporate partner Mike Jones and property partner Simon Felce.

Contacts have now been exchanged on the £55m development, which will be the first ever collaboration between Peel L&P and Urban Splash.

International infrastructure investor John Laing has secured a 49.8% investment in the 112Megawatt Granville Harbour Wind Farm in Tasmania, Australia. The acquisition forms part of the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio in the region.

CMS team supports VR-LEASING in the sale of BFL Leasing to BAWAG Group

Frankfurt/Main – Austrian BAWAG Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BFL Leasing GmbH from BFL Gesellschaft des Bürofachhandels mbH & Co. KG. VR-LEASING AG is the majority shareholder in BFL. All parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The final closing of the transaction is still subject to approval by the antitrust and financial services regulatory authorities.

A CMS team headed by lead partner Dr Oliver C. Wolfgramm provided VR-LEASING with comprehensive legal advice on all transaction-related issues.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised largest real estate service provider in the Netherlands, MVGM-Group, on the acquisition of PropertyFirst GmbH from RGM-Group with effect from 1 January 2019. Bochum-based PropertyFirst GmbH operates at 12 locations and offers any commercial and technical property management services. It manages rental space of approx. 3 million m² and administers numerous rental apartments and owner communities. A team led by the Düsseldorf-based partner Dr. Martin Imhof provided legal and tax advice for the acquisition in its entire range.

Frankfurt—Global law firm Dentons advised engineering company Lahmeyer International on the acquisition of Overdick and Deutsche Offshore Consult (DOC), two companies specializing in offshore projects. With these strategic acquisitions, Lahmeyer has strengthened its position as a leading engineering service company in the energy sector, in particular in the rapidly growing market for offshore wind energy. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value.

Norton Rose Fulbright secures landmark German competition judgment for rail construction company

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has secured a landmark judgment in relation to an antitrust damages claim before the German Federal Supreme Court. Public transport company VBK had brought a claim against the firm’s client, German rail construction company Schreck-Mieves, in respect of damages allegedly suffered from Schreck-Mieves’ participation in the rail infrastructure cartel.

Clifford Chance has advised Eurotower Frankfurt GmbH & Co. KG on the sale of the Eurotower in Frankfurt to Patrizia Immobilien AG. Patrizia was acting on behalf of the Taiwanese insurer Fubon Life. This was one of the largest real estate transactions on the Frankfurt market in 2018.
