Eversheds advises Euro Garages on £1.3bn acquisition

Law firm Eversheds has advised Euro Garages, one of the largest independent forecourt operators in the UK, on a £1.3bn investment.

TDR Capital, the London-based investment firm which owns rival company European Forecourt Retail Group, has taken a minority stake in Euro Garages, a Lancashire-based company owned by brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa.

Euro Garages has a portfolio of over 340 sites across the UK including petrol stations and related shops. It also operates the Rivington services on the M61.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Growthpoint on A$20.3 million acquisition of NSW industrial property

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Growthpoint Properties Australia Limited (Growthpoint) on its $20.3 million acquisition of a 14.1 hectare property that is a key part of Australia’s automotive industry.

Located in the New South Wales coastal town of Wollongong, the property is primarily comprised of an asphalt car park constructed in 2012 and is 100% leased for 15 years to Patrick Autocare. Patrick Autocare uses the Kembla Grange property to store thousands of cars imported into Australia.

DWF advises on landmark Gemini deal

National legal business DWF advised an investment vehicle affiliated with global real estate investment firm Colony Capital,Inc. (“Colony”) on its £311 million purchase of the Gemini property portfolio.

Real estate partner Lorraine Reader with support from the national team, in particular Geoff Stansfield and Greg Peebles in Scotland, advised Colony on the acquisition. The deal comprises 24 assets, including Renfrew Retail Park in Glasgow, Martineau Place in Birmingham, Regus House, Uxbridge and The Grange in Cheltenham.

Dentons advises Skanska on the largest office portfolio sale in Poland this year

Dentons' real estate team has advised Skanska Property Poland on the sale of four office buildings to a fund managed by the Swedish fund manager Niam. The deal was the largest sale transaction completed this year in the office sector in CEE and Skanska’s largest ever project in the region.

Skanska’s portfolio of 63,000 sq.m. includes two projects in Krakow - Kapelanka 42 A and Axis, as well as buildings A and B in the Silesia Business Park complex in Katowice.

DLA Piper advises Harrison Street in connection with its proposed $1.9 billion acquisition of Campus Crest

DLA Piper represented Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, LLC in connection with its proposed US$1.9 billion acquisition of Campus Crest Communities, Inc. (NYSE: CCG). On October 16, 2015, certain affiliates of Harrison Street entered into a definitive merger agreement with Campus Crest pursuant to which, subject to the satisfaction of certain closing conditions, Harrison Street will acquire all issued and outstanding shares of common stock of Campus Crest. The transaction is currently anticipated to close during the first quarter of 2016.

Kungsleden acquires properties for SEK 3 bn and creates new city cluster in Stockholm

Kungsleden AB (publ) has acquired properties in two Stockholm city districts for SEK 3 billion creating a new city cluster with a total leasable area of 96,000 square metres. The four properties acquired from Djurgårdsstadens Fastigheter AB are located in Gärdet-Frihamnen and Hammarby Sjöstad, both districts within the Stockholm inner city borders. Current major tenants include the Swedish Customs, the Swedish Fortifications Agency, Biz Apartment, Axfood and Procter & Gamble.

Hannes Snellman advises Certeum Corporation and its Board of Directors in relation to the sale of shares representing 57.5% of all shares in Certeum, between Sponda Plc and Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company (as sellers) and Tungsten Investment S.à.r.l. (as purchaser), a company affiliated to Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe IV.
