BLP acts on the sale of the Pinnacle

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has acted for the sellers on the sale of 22 Bishopsgate, London EC2 (formerly known as The Pinnacle) to an international consortium of investors represented by AXA Real Estate Investment Managers.

The international consortium of investors has appointed AXA Real Estate as Investment Manager and Lipton Rogers as Developer, with the intention to develop a new landmark tower designed by leading architects PLP.

DAC Beachcroft has acted for the sellers on the sale of 22 Bishopsgate in London to an international consortium of investors represented by AXA Real Estate Investment Managers.

The firm dealt with the sale of the building, working in conjunction with Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), including advising the sellers on construction, finance and corporate aspects of the landmark deal.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Land Securities Group Plc (‘Land Securities’) on its unconditional agreement to purchase the leasehold interest in a 1.9 acre development site at 21 Moorfields in the City of London, for £16.5 million, excluding overage.

Fieldfisher advises Stride Treglown on switch to employee-ownership business model

A team from Fieldfisher has advised architecture practice Stride Treglown on its adoption of the employee-ownership business model.

Stride Treglown is the 10th largest architectural practice in the UK with 280 staff in nine offices throughout the UK and the UAE, all of whom now own a part of the company. In the course of its 60 year history, Stride Treglown has worked on award-winning projects such as the regeneration of former Cornish mining area Heartlands, the transformation of the 1930s-built Wiltshire County Hall, and the design of Watergate Bay Hotel in Newquay.

Derwent London and LaSalle Investment Management agree property swap and form Whitechapel joint venture

Derwent London plc has exchanged contracts with LaSalle Investment Management ("LaSalle"), the global real estate investment manager, to acquire a minimum 175-year long leasehold of 20 Farringdon Road, Clerkenwell EC1 in London’s Tech Belt. LaSalle will retain the building’s virtual freehold with the right to receive 10% of all rents.

Davis Polk Advises Sunac China Holdings Limited on Acquisition, Possible Mandatory Cash Offer and Debt Restructuring of Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd.

Davis Polk is advising Sunac China Holdings Limited in connection with a proposed acquisition of shares in Kaisa Group Holdings Ltd. Pursuant to the terms of the share purchase agreement, Sunac has conditionally agreed to acquire approximately 49.25% of the issue shares of Kaisa for an aggregate consideration of approximately $584 million. The acquisition is subject to a number of conditions precedent, including the obtaining of shareholders’ approval.

Charles Russell Speechlys recently advised the property investment arm of Lum Chang Holdings on its sale of corporate vehicle owning the freehold of 42-60 (even) Kensington High Street to Urban Retail V, a fund operated by Grosvenor Fund Management.

This property consists of four prime retail units, which are positioned in one of the key retail locations in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
