Clifford Chance advises China Aluminum International Engineering Corporation on issuance of US$300 million perpetual capital securities

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised China Aluminum International Engineering Corporation Limited (Chalieco) on the US$300 million senior guaranteed perpetual capital securities by Chalieco Hong Kong Corporation Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chalieco. The securities are guaranteed by Chalieco and include a keepwell deed provided by Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco), the parent company of Chalieco. The senior guaranteed perpetual capital securities are listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Propertylink on industrial property investment partnership

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised fund manager Propertylink on the establishment of an industrial property vehicle with investments from Goldman Sachs and UK based Grosvenor Group.

The vehicle, called the Australian Industrial Property Partnership, currently has a portfolio of seven industrial assets with a combined value of around A$100 million, and plans to expand the portfolio to A$350 - 400 million.

K&L Gates Advises Emaar Properties on Acquisition of Dinosaur Fossil Skeleton

K&L Gates LLP has advised Dubai-based developer Emaar Properties PJSC on the acquisition of an adult dinosaur fossil skeleton, which was put on display at The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping center, earlier this week.

Dating from the Jurassic Period, the remains of this Diplodocus longus were discovered in a sleeping position in the Dana Quarry in Wyoming, USA, in 2008. The specimen was previously displayed at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Texas before being shipped to the United Arab Emirates.

Hogan Lovells Advises Shaftesbury on £156M Placing

Hogan Lovells has advised long-standing client Shaftesbury PLC on the placing of 25,250,000 new ordinary shares for £156.6 million, announced on Thursday 6 March 2014.

The Placing Shares were placed at a price of 620 pence each, raising gross proceeds of approximately £156.6 million. The Placing Shares represent approximately 9.99% of Shaftesbury's issued ordinary share capital prior to the Placing.
