Clifford Chance advises Tele2 on the Phase II unconditional clearance granted by the European Commission for the merger of Tele2 Netherlands with T-Mobile Netherlands

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance successfully represented Tele2 in obtaining unconditional approval for the merger of Tele2 Netherlands with T-Mobile Netherlands, following a complex Phase II investigation. The transaction was announced on 15 December 2017 and brings together the third and fourth largest mobile network operators in the Netherlands, with a combined market share of around 25%.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Deputy Group on US$81 million Series B capital raise led by Institutional Venture Partners

Herbert Smith Freehills’ private equity and venture capital team has advised on an US$81 million Series B capital raise for Deputy Group – an Australian technology company that develops cloud-based workforce management solutions.

Institutional Venture Partners led the investment and were joined by OpenView Venture Partners and Square Peg Capital. Herbert Smith Freehills previously advised Deputy on its US$25 million Series A capital raise in late 2016.

International law firm Pinsent Masons has advised safety, health and environmental technology company Halma on its acquisition of Navtech Radar.

The Pinsent Masons team advising Halma was led by partner Andrew McMillan, senior associate Emma Callow and solicitor Kiren Matharu.

Halma purchased the UK-based designer and manufacturer of innovative radar surveillance solutions for an initial cash consideration of £21m on a cash and debt free basis.

Hogan Lovells assists Vodafone in first European trial of Mobile Tracking and Control Technology for long distance drone flights

Hogan Lovells has assisted Vodafone Group in the first successful trial in Europe demonstrating how mobile networks could support the European’s Commission’s vision of safe long distance drone flights. Regulators will need technology support to ensure drones are constantly monitored when flying ‘beyond visual line of sight’ (BVLOS) and to enforce no fly zones around sensitive buildings (including schools, hospitals, prisons, government buildings and chemical plants).

Dechert Advises On World’s First Cryptocurrency Index-Backed Exchange Traded Product

Dechert LLP acted as legal counsel for Amun AG, a special purpose issuance vehicle of the fintech group Amun Technologies Limited, in a recent issuance of Exchange Traded Products. The issuance, which completed on November 21, was the first cryptocurrency-linked ETP transaction facilitated by the SIX Swiss Exchange program. It will be listed on SIX on 22 November.

Thermeon Worldwide Sold To Valsoft

The London office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has advised car rental software provider, Thermeon Worldwide Ltd, on its sale to Valsoft Corporation Inc.
 
Valsoft is a Montreal-based company specialising in the acquisition and development of vertical market software businesses. Under the agreement, Valsoft has acquired Thermeon’s assets, including its brand name, CARS+.
