Supported by the M&A team led by Hamburg-based partner Dr. Stefan Duhnkrack, ATH Altonaer-Technologie-Holding GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg and owner of KROENERT GmbH & Co KG, acquired all shares in Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
 

DLA Piper has advised Cologne-based telecommunications provider QSC AG on the spinoff of its telecommunications business to Plusnet GmbH.

This measure forms part of QSC's verticalisation strategy, which involves assigning greater responsibility to individual business units. QSC AG aims to enable all of its business units - Cloud, Internet-of-Things, SAP Consulting, Telecommunications and Colocation - to act on the market with greater agility and increased customer focus.

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Culture Amp on its USD$35 million Series D capital raise - one of the largest raisings undertaken for an Australian company this year. Culture Amp will employ this capital to fund its continued rapid growth as well as potential future expansions.

The round was led by Blackbird Ventures with co-investors including Hostplus and follow-on investors including Index Ventures and California-based funds Sapphire Ventures and Felicis Ventures.

DLA Piper has advised marketing communications group, Zeeland Family Plc (Zeeland Family), on its acquisition of Nitroid Oy (Nitroid), and the private offering and listing of shares on the Nasdaq Helsinki.

Nitroid is a marketing communications agency with offices in Kotka, Kouvola and Lappeenranta, South-Eastern Finland. It employs 32 staff.

DLA Piper has advised the software supplier Nemetschek SE on the acquisition of the real estate and facilities technology firm MCS Solutions in Belgium, Sweden, India and the USA. The acquisition sees Nemetschek SE gain access to the rapidly growing market in building management. The company will acquire one hundred per cent of the shares in MCS Solutions, leading to an average market growth forecast of more than ten per cent over the coming five years. The two parties have agreed the purchase price will remain undisclosed.

International law firm CMS has advised Advance/Newhouse Partnership (“Advance”), a diversified, family-owned company that operates and invests in a broad range of media, communications and technology businesses, on its agreement to purchase 100% of the shares of Stage Entertainment from CVC Capital Partners and Joop van den Ende.
