Stephenson Harwood advises AET on Paramount Tankers purchase

International law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has advised AET on its purchase from Golden Energy Tanker Holdings of the 50 percent stake in Paramount Tankers which it did not already own, leaving AET as sole shareholder. The purchase price was not disclosed.

AET is one of the world’s leading tanker owners and provides ocean transportation and petroleum logistics services for oil companies, trading houses and refiners worldwide. Paramount Tankers owns and operates six Aframax vessels which will transfer to AET’s current fleet of 96 vessels.

4 April 2016, Shenzhen Selen Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Selen Science & Technology, stock code: 002341) and Japanese T&T Enertechno Co., Ltd. (T&T) have officially signed a package of M&A framework agreements in Tokyo. According to the agreement, Selen Science & Technology purchased lithium battery aluminum-plastic film soft bag business from T&T with a consideration of 9.5 billion Japanese yen (approximately US$88.35 million).

HSF advise Rothesay Life on award winning acquisition of Westlink M7 base rental payments

In a deal recently recognised by Infrastructure Partnerships Australia (IPA), Herbert Smith Freehills advised Rothesay Life on its acquisition of the base rental stream on the Westlink M7 Tollroad from the NSW Government.

In an Australian first, the acquisition of the tollroad base rental was completed through a structured assignment of the base rental stream, using a master trust structure. Last month the deal won the Financial Excellence Award at IPA’s 2016 National Infrastructure Awards, in recognition of the deal’s financial innovation and excellence.
