The Real Estate & Construction team at CHSH led by Partner Manfred Ton provided legal advice to the KGAL Group, one of the largest German asset managers, regarding its acquisition of the eo Oberwart shopping centre in southern Burgenland.

Ho Bee Land Limited, a Singapore-based real estate development and investment company, acquired the prime trophy office and retail building, located in the heart of Covent Garden, from St Martin’s Property Limited.

Ashurst advised the credit business of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co L.P. ('KKR') on the acquisition of the entire share capital and voting rights of  Pont-sur-Sambre Power and Toul Power, two combined cycle gas turbine power plants in France, from Verbund AG, a power transmission and trading company.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised TSE listed water treatment company Kurita Water Industries (Kurita) on its acquisition of water treatment and chemical production businesses from NYSE listed industrial, Israel Chemicals Limited.

The assets, based in Germany, China, France, Italy, Israel and Sweden have been acquired for €250m (US$317m) in a deal that was signed on 27 October 2014.

Kurita is Japan’s leading water treatment company in the industrial field, and the transaction will see their position further enhanced in the European market.

Trowers & Hamlins has acted for established client Berjaya Land Berhad on the successful acquisition of The Castleton Hotel, Paddington, London by its subsidiaries Berjaya Vacation Club (UK) Limited and BHR (Cayman) Limited for circa £10 million.

The acquisition involved the purchase of the hotel and assets from the property-owning seller, together with the business and trade from the business-owning seller. The Castleton is now the second hotel in Berjaya's UK hotel portfolio, which already included the Eden Park Hotel in Bayswater.

Borenius advised Citycon in the acquisition of 40% of the Iso Omena shopping centre (Espoo, Finland, GLA 63,300 m2) from the Singaporean GIC, through which Citycon increased its ownership to 100%.
