Dentons advises IREIT Global on the acquisition of an office complex in Munich

Dentons advised IREIT Global on the acquisition of an office complex in Munich. It is the “Quartier Pinus” located in the business park “Concorpark” in Munich-Aschheim, which is let  to Ebase, Allianz and STM. The seller was  Münchner Grund Immobilien Bauträger AG, a subsidiary of the Austrian stock-listed UBM Realitätenentwicklung.

The financing was managed through DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale.

Kirkland & Ellis Represents Blackstone and Vine Oil & Gas on $1.2B Deal for Haynesville Assets of Royal Dutch Shell

Kirkland & Ellis LLP represents Blackstone (BX) and Vine Oil & Gas LP, a recently formed exploration and production company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, which today announced a definitive agreement to acquire the Haynesville assets of SWEPI LP and Shell Gulf of Mexico Inc., affiliates of Royal Dutch Shell plc, for $1.2 billion. The assets comprise over 107,000 net acres in North Louisiana in the core of the Haynesville Shale natural gas shale basin.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Greencoat and Swiss Life on acquisition of four UK wind farms

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Greencoat UK Wind plc (Greencoat), the London-listed renewable infrastructure fund, and Swiss Life Funds (Luxembourg) Global Infrastructure Opportunities S.C.A. (SLFL GIO), a fund managed by Swiss Life Asset Managers, on the acquisition of Drone Hill, North Rhins, Sixpenny Wood and Yelvertoft Wind Farms from subsidiaries of The AES Corporation (AES), a global power company.

The acquisitions have been made through a joint holding company of which Greencoat owns 51.6% and SLFL GIO owns 48.4%.

DLA Piper advises KKR on Australian acquisition

DLA Piper has advised leading global investment KKR on its venture with ASX-listed Abacus Property Group to purchase 70 percent of the World Trade Centre in Northbank, Melbourne from Asset 1.

The deal is worth approximately AU$120.4 million, and settlement is expected in October. KKR will own 75 percent of the venture on completion. This acquisition represents KKR's first foray into the Australian real estate market.

The DLA Piper team advising KKR was led by partner Les Koltai, with assistance from senior associates Astrid Beemster and Joel Cox.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises on Abacus/KKR World Trade Centre investment

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Abacus/KKR’s joint venture on their investment in the mixed use World Trade Centre in Northbank, Melbourne. The consideration for their 70% interest is A$120.4 million, with settlement planned for October.

Herbert Smith Freehills partner, Justin O’Farrell, led the co-ownership and joint venture aspects of the deal, assisted by senior associate, Laura Walsh. Melbourne partner and head of real estate, David Sinn, led the real estate acquisition team, assisted by senior associate Will Barnes.

DWF advises on acquisition of major Liverpool landmark

DWF, represented UK real estate fund manager, Moorfield Group (Moorfield) in the acquisition of the iconic HM Customs & Excise building at Queens Dock in Liverpool.

Acquired by Moorfield on behalf of Moorfield Real Estate Fund III (MREFIII), the building will be transformed with a c.£30 million investment to create 240 luxury apartments for the private rented sector (PRS). The project will also be part of the wider, on-going rejuvenation of Liverpool’s waterfront.

BLP advises UOL Group Limited on first ever UK deal – the £97m acquisition of the Heron Plaza Site

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), acted for UOL Group Limited (UOL), a substantial Singapore property company listed on the Singapore Exchange with total assets worth more than $10 billion in Asia and Australia, on its corporate acquisition of Heron Plaza.

The transaction represents UOL’s first foray into the London market.

The 3,200-square metre prime freehold site has planning permission to be developed into a 43-storey tower with an estimated total gross floor area of 52,255 square metres comprising:
