WFW advises Santander on the acquisition of three solar projects in Cornwall, Dorset and Norfolk totalling 56.6MW

Watson, Farley & Williams has advised Santander on an investment in 3 solar PV projects on sites in Cornwall, Dorset and Norfolk, totaling 56.6MW.

WFW advised Santander on the provision of equity financing for the three projects by acquiring shares in individual project SPVs from British Solar Renewables.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises PTTEP and Pertamina on US$1.3 billion Indonesian oil & gas acquisition

Norton Rose Fulbright is advising PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) and Pertamina Hulu Energy (a subsidiary of Pertamina) on acquiring all of Hess's Indonesian oil & gas producing assets for total consideration of US$1.3 billion.

This transaction is one of the largest acquisitions in the Indonesian oil and gas space to date, it comprises two significant participating interests in the Natuna Sea A Project and the Pangkah Project.

Irwin Mitchell has advised advised on the purchase of Granary Wharf House by educational charity Lhasa Limited. The three-storey purpose built 20,805 sq ft offices were previously occupied by the Medical Protection Society (MPS), which relocated to Victoria Place earlier this year as part of its continued expansion.

Lhasa Limited is a not-for-profit organisation and educational charity. It facilitates collaborative data sharing projects in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemistry-related industries.

Wragge & Co's Energy team powers ahead on solar deal

Wragge & Co's Energy team has advised on a major transaction to acquire sites for the construction of solar farms in the UK. Primrose Solar, jointly backed by York Capital and Pioneer Point Partners Ltd, acquired five sites across South Wales and the South Coast. The sites have planning permission and construction is about to commence. When built, the farms will add 38 megawatt hours (MWh) to the grid, enough to supply around 11,500 homes and save up to 16,400 tonnes of CO2 annually.

King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin has advised Singapore-listed property developer, Oxley Holdings Limited, on the acquisition of Royal Wharf, the city’s largest mixed-use real estate site, from Ballymore Group for £200 million.

Oxley is a lifestyle property developer specialising in quality residential, commercial and industrial projects, with projects in China, Malaysia and Cambodia. It plans to build 3,400 homes, offices and shops on the 40-acre (16-hectare) site at the Royal Docks on the banks of the River Thames in London.

Slaughter and May and Mannheimer Swartling, working as a team, advised an affiliate of HHR Euro CV (HHR) on the purchase of the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel in Sweden for approximately EUR 102 million. The transaction was structured by way of the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of the holding company of the property. Mannheimer Swartling also advised on the related EUR 61 million mortgage loan that matures in 2018.

WFW advises Union Investment on the acquisition of onshore wind farms in Ireland and France

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has advised Union Investment on its acquisition of the onshore wind farm “Gibbet Hill” in County Wexford, Ireland from the German project developer ABO Wind.

The “Gibbett Hill” wind farm, which has been operational since July 2013, consists of six wind turbines with a total capacity of 15 MW.
