Grosvenor Britain and Ireland - acquisition of 8.2 acres of land from Workspace Group

Slaughter and May advised Grosvenor Britain and Ireland (Grosvenor) on the acquisition of 8.2 acres of land from Workspace Group PLC (Workspace) at the Tower Bridge Business Complex in Bermondsey, Southwark for £51million. Planning consent has been granted for the construction of 800 new homes, affordable housing and a new public park on the site.

WFW advises German private equity investor Aurelius on cross-border acquisition

Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”),  is pleased to announce that its London and Madrid offices have advised German private equity investor Aurelius AG (“Aurelius”) on the cross-border acquisition of the value added sales activities of the Unified Communications business within the NEC Group.

Aurelius, together with its portfolio group company Getronics, has acquired the business in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland. Completion took place on 1 October 2013.

Ashurst advises Warburg-Henderson on acquisition of Altezza office building from CBRE

Ashurst advised Warburg-Henderson Kapitalanlagegesellschaft für Immobilien mbH ("Warburg-Henderson"), represented by HIH Hamburgische Immobilien Handlung GmbH ("HIH"), on the acquisition of "Altezza" office building in Munich's Westend. Warburg-Henderson acquired the property for its special fund Warburg-Henderson Deutschland Top 5. Altezza was sold by CBRE European Office Fund for an undisclosed consideration.

K&L Gates Advises Japan Airlines on Landmark Airbus Deal

Tokyo and London - Global law firm K&L Gates recently represented Japanese carrier Japan Airlines (JAL) in a landmark deal that has the company acquiring 31 of aircraft manufacturer Airbus’ A350 planes, along with options for a further 25 aircraft. This marks JAL’s first-ever order with Airbus, in addition to the largest order for the A350 in 2013.

JAL and Airbus aim to introduce the new planes into service beginning in 2019, with the A350 gradually replacing the airline’s fleet over a six-year period.

Crown Castle's $4.85 Billion Acquisition of AT&T Towers

On October 20, 2013, Crown Castle International Corp. and AT&T Inc. announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Crown Castle will acquire rights to approximately 9,700 AT&T towers for US$4.85 billion in cash at closing, subject to certain limited adjustments. Cravath represented Crown Castle in connection with this transaction.
