Deutsche Real Estate Funds (DREF) via its subsidiary Deutscher Studenten Wohn Bond I S.A. issues a bond of EUR 44 million for the financing of student residential housing. Teams led by Dr. Thorsten Kuthe, partner at the Cologne office for capital market law and by Dr. Peter Zimmermann for real estate law at the Düsseldorf office of the commercial law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, comprehensively advised Deutscher Studenten Wohn Bond I S.A.

Clifford Chance advises on the financing of Peru's first subway project

Clifford Chance acted as New York counsel to Metro de Lima Linea 2 S.A., as concessionaire, and a consortium - formed by ACS-Iridium and Vialia-FCC of Spain; Salini Impregilo, Ansaldo STS and AnsaldoBreda of Italy; and Cosapi of Peru - as Sponsors, in the US$1.15 billion bond financing of the Line 2 of the Lima and Callao Metro project in Peru. The deal will partially finance Peru's very first underground metro, and its total cost of US$5.3 billion makes it one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects ever to be undertaken in Latin America. The offering closed on June 17, 2015.

KWM instrumental in A$245m debt refinancing transaction for WA Gas Pipeline

King & Wood Mallesons has advised DBP on its A$245m bank debt refinancing transaction, provided by The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., a long term banker to the company.

The funds raised will be applied to repay part of DBP’s A$565 million of medium term notes when they mature in September 2015.

The King & Wood Mallesons team was led by banking and finance partner Nicholas Creed, who was supported by solicitor Kirsten Young.

NautaDutilh assists Ramphastos on partial refinancing High Tech Campus Eindhoven

Ramphastos Real Estate Investments has closed the EUR 85 million partial refinancing for the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven with Berlin Hyp AG acting as arranger and lender. The High Tech Campus Eindhoven houses more than 120 companies and institutes, and over 8,000 researchers, developers and entrepreneurs working on developing future technologies and products.

Allen & Overy advises on Rule 144A/Regulation S bond offering by Bharti Airtel Limited

Allen & Overy has advised Bharti Airtel Limited on its issue of USD1 billion notes under Rule 144A/Regulation S.

The Allen & Overy team had previous advised Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) B.V. (BAIN), as issuer, and Bharti Airtel Limited, as guarantor, on all of BAIN’s previous bond offerings, and most recently on the approximately US$2 billion offering of notes under Rule 144A/Regulation S in 2014 (this involved simultaneous offerings of US$1 billion and EUR750 million).

Linklaters advises on Singapore’s first covered bond deal

Linklaters has advised DBS Bank on the establishment of a USD 10 billion global covered bond programme, a first for the Singapore market under a new covered bond regime.

Singapore released guidelines in December 2013 to permit the nation’s banks to sell covered bonds. Covered bonds are rated higher than unsecured debt, often attaining the coveted AAA rating, as investors have recourse to both the issuer and a portfolio of assets. Issuing covered bonds enables banks to reach investors in high-grade securities.

Clifford Chance has advised Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan and Standard Chartered Bank in connection with the $500 million offering of 6.950% notes due 2025 by the Gabonese Republic. It represents the second African sovereign Eurobond issuance of 2015, following the Ivory Coast's offer in January 2015.

HFW advises Stanford Marine on AED1.2 billion refinancing

HFW's Middle East finance team, led by Partner Ian Chung, has advised Stanford Marine Group on a AED1.2 billion (US$326.7 million) sharia-compliant loan for the purposes of consolidating existing debt.

The murabaha-structured facility which was arranged for Stanford Asia Holding Company, an offshore vessel operator, was backed by a syndicate of GCC banks led by Noor Bank PJSC – making it one of the first fully Islamic-backed finance deals in the oilfield services sector.

Freshfields advises on Anhui Transportation US$300m bond issue

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Anhui Transportation Holding Group Co., Ltd. (Anhui Transportation) on its subsidiary’s inaugural offshore bond issuance, listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

The US$300m 2.875 per cent bonds, issued by Anhui Transportation Holding Group (HK) Limited, are due 2018.

Anhui Transportation is a state-owned company which is one of the largest toll road operators and transportation companies in mainland China.
