Osborne Clarke has advised Oxford PV Germany GmbH on an European Investment Bank (EIB) financing of €15m. Oxford PV Germany GmbH is a subsidiary of Oxford Photovoltaics Limited, the leader in the field of perovskite solar cells. The financing supports the transfer of its disruptive perovskite on silicon tandem solar cell technology from lab scale to commercialisation.

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) as its international and PRC counsel on its EUR500 million seven-year euro-denominated green bonds and USD900 million US dollar-denominated debt with multi-period in the Irish and Hong Kong Stock Exchange respectively (the “Bonds”). The bonds are issued by CGNPC International Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of CGN and unconditionally guaranteed by CGN. The complex multi-currency transaction with several periods in two regions, is rarely seen in the market.

The international law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT has advised the dormakaba Group on issuing two bonds in a total volume of CHF 680 million as double tranches on the Swiss capital market with regard to all German law aspects in relation to the collateralisation by a German group company. dormakaba Finance AG is the issuer of the bond, the first tranche of which has a maturity of four years, a 0.375 per cent coupon and an issuing price of 100.298 percent, and the second tranche being issued with a maturity of eight years, a coupon of 1.00 percent and an issuing price of 100.46 percent.

Hogan Lovells advises banks on issuance of Volkswagen Bank corporate bonds

Led by Frankfurt partner Jochen Seitz Hogan Lovells has advised Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank (technical lead), RBC Capital Markets and Banco Santander on the subscription and placement of three corporate bonds of Volkswagen Bank GmbH with an overall volume of EUR 2 billion. Seitz together with his team advised on the subscription agreement and the securities prospectus.

Baker McKenzie acts on debt raising by Kooragang Island Tank Terminals

Baker McKenzie advised National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) as Sole Lead Manager and as Initial Subscriber on the issue of A$41,200,000, 7% fixed rate secured notes, due 2022, by Kooragang Island Tank Terminals. 

Baker McKenzie lead partner on the deal, Duncan McGrath, said: "The deal -- undertaken by a private company in a part of the market typically accessed by ASX-listed issuers -- clearly demonstrates the increasing depth and sophistication of the market.
