Allens advises on US$5 billion gas pipeline purchase

Allens has advised APA Group, Australia's largest natural gas infrastructure business, on its US$5 billion (approximately A$6.05 billion) purchase of the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) pipeline from the BG Group.

The firm also advised APA on its A$1.8 billion capital raising to partly fund the acquisition.

The 543km pipeline links gas fields in the Surat Basin to the QCLNG LNG plant at Gladstone.

The Allens team was led by Guy Alexander and Kate Towey.

Freshfields advises on US$1.17bn PICC P&C rights issue

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised the underwriters on the US$1.17bn rights issue of PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited (PICC P&C).

PICC P&C, the Chinese state-controlled and China’s leading non-life insurer, has issued around 397.8m H-shares at HK$7.46 per share and 844.6m domestic shares at RMB5.92 per share. PICC P&C has raised a total of RMB7.24bn (US$1.17bn) from the rights issue.

Freshfields advised the underwriters, CICC, HSBC and Goldman Sachs, on the Hong Kong and US law aspects of the transaction.

Shearman & Sterling Advises Intercontinental Exchange on Sale of Remaining Stake in Euronext

Shearman & Sterling advised Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (“ICE”) as selling shareholder in connection with the sale of 4,210,823 ordinary shares of Euronext N.V. ("Euronext") for gross proceeds of approximately €96.8 million, representing approximately 6.02% of Euronext’s share capital and ICE’s final exit from Euronext following Euronext’s initial public offering in June 2014.
