Linklaters advises on Scottish roads project - a milestone in the development of the post-crisis project bond product

Linklaters has advised Allianz Global Investors Europe and the European Investment Bank (EIB) on the £400m widening and improvement works to the M8, M73 and M74 motorways in Scotland. The project was 50% financed by debt financing provided by the EIB and 50% by a bond issuance wholly subscribed on a deferred payment basis by Allianz Global Investors which has been listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

Baker & McKenzie Advises the Joint Coordinators on the US$558 Million Structured Onshore & Offshore Financing

Baker & McKenzie recently advised the joint coordinators, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited and Hang Seng Bank Limited, on the US$558 million (RMB3.4 billion) two-tranche onshore offshore financing for certain entities being advised by Phoenix Property Investors Limited, a Cayman Island fund management firm.

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Partners Group on the successful closing of a US$250 million investment to develop a dedicated Japanese solar platform.

Partners Group is a global private markets investment management firm with over €30 billion in investment programmes under management in private equity, private debt, private real estate and private infrastructure.

WFW advises HSH Nordbank AG on the transfer of 10 vessels to the Navios Group

Watson, Farley & Williams has advised HSH Nordbank AG (“HSH”) on its innovative venture to transfer 10 distressed vessels out of HSH’s non-core portfolio to the Navios Group (“Navios”).

The fleet comprises five medium or large range product tankers and five panamax or sub-panamax container vessels, with an average age of six years and a market value in the region of US$218m.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Indonesia’s state electricity company on financing of two gas-fired power plants

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright advised PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) on the financing of its MW184 Arun and MW155 Bangkanai gas fired power plants in Aceh and Central Kalimantan respectively. The facilities are landmark export credit agency (ECA) transactions in South East Asia and are PLN’s first international bank financings that are not guaranteed by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance.

Herbert Smith Freehills completes largest ever reserve-based lending transaction

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised a group of 25 lenders on a US$4 billion reserve-based lending (RBL) facility for Lundin Petroleum. The transaction was coordinated by HSBC as documentation bank and BNP Paribas as facility agent, and is sized on the basis of Lundin's assets in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway and France.

Allen & Overy advises Citigroup on USD 700 Million OCEAN FUNDING 2013 Refinancing Transaction of HSH Nordbank

In relation to a secured refinancing transaction of HSH Nordbank, Allen & Overy LLP has advised Citigroup in its capacity as co-arranger with HSH Nordbank.

OCEAN FUNDING 2013 generates funding of up to 700 million US-Dollar for HSH Nordbank. The transaction is collateralised with a portfolio of approximately 30 shipping loans originated by HSH Nordbank. OCEAN FUNDING 2013 is the first transaction of its kind in the German market and could pave the way for similar asset-based financings relating to shipping loans and other asset classes.

Mayer Brown advises on US$425 million ship financing facility

Mayer Brown has advised a joint venture involving four shipping companies in the US$425 million refinancing of four liquefied natural gas vessels. The 12-year loan from a consortium of international banks will be used to refinance existing debt facilities on four liquefied natural gas vessels.

The four vessels are wholly owned by vessel sponsors: Qatar Shipping Company, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha. All four vessels are chartered to Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company II in Qatar on a long term charter basis.
