Clifford Chance advises on financing for the El Corti wind farm project, part of Argentina's RenovAR program

Clifford Chance advised the Inter-American Investment Corporation ("IIC"), Banco Santander and ICBC in connection with the financing of the 98.5MW El Corti wind farm in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. The US$104 million loan package provided to an affiliate of Pampa Energía S.A. and Castlelake LP was the first financing by international lenders to a project developed under the RenovAr renewable energy program in Argentina. IIC provided an A loan of US$31.5 million while Banco Santander and ICBC teamed up to fund a B Loan of US$72.5 million.

Ashurst advises EnQuest PLC on $80 million crude oil prepayment facility and $37.25 million Tanjong Baram financing

Ashurst advised EnQuest on the execution of an $80 million crude oil prepayment transaction in respect of certain of its North Sea assets and a $37.25 million refinancing for its Tanjong Baram project in Malaysia, as part of EnQuest's programme of liquidity improvement measures.

Ashurst advised on the finance, upstream commercial, hedging and certain tax aspects of the transactions, working closely with EnQuest's General Counsel Stefan Ricketts and Senior Legal Advisor Dawood Ahmed.

Triodos banks on TLT for solar investment advice

Triodos Bank has again instructed TLT to advise on a multi-million pound investment in UK solar farms, as TLT witnesses a continued strength in financial backing for clean energy.

Triodos has provided £17.9 million of loans to two UK solar projects for Spanish developer Gamma Solutions SL. The transaction combines £15.1 million of project finance loans from Triodos Bank with £2.8 million of mezzanine loans from the Triodos Renewable Europe Fund.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises lenders on the financing of Central Queensland solar farm

Herbert Smith Freehills has advised National Australia Bank Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation on the project financing for Emerald Solar Park in Central Queensland. RES Australia has been developing the 68MW solar farm, comprising approximately 275,000 solar panels.

Emerald Solar Park - which has been acquired by Lighthouse Infrastructure’s Solar Fund - is underpinned by a long term power purchase agreement with Telstra as offtaker. Reaching financial close marks the first banked transaction in Australia with a corporate PPA from Telstra.

Loyens & Loeff advised European Investment Bank

Loyens & Loeff advised European Investment Bank on a EUR 100 million loan to finance construction of the new Amphia Hospital in Breda. Amphia is one of the most advanced clinical hospitals in the Netherlands and the new hospital will strengthen healthcare for the North Brabant province. This is the first Dutch hospital to be financed by the EIB under the Investment (“Juncker”) Plan for Europe. The EIB is providing a low-interest rate and 27 year long-term loan. Construction of the new Amphia Hospital is one of the most significant capital investments in the country.

KWM advises on project funding for Kennedy Energy Park

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) as the sole debt financier in relation to its $94 million funding of the 60MW hybrid Kennedy Energy Park.

The Kennedy Energy Park is the first utility scale wind, solar, and battery storage project in Australia. Located in the Flinders Shire in central north Queensland, the project also received an $18 million renewables grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).

White & Case Advises Ghelamco on Financing for Construction of 'The Warsaw Hub'

White & Case LLP has advised companies from the Ghelamco group on the financing of up to EU221 million and PLN 45 million (a total amount of approximately PLN 1 billion), from a consortium of financial institutions including Bank Zachodni WBK S.A., PKO BP S.A., Bank Pekao S.A., Bank BGZ Paribas S.A. and Raiffeisen Bank Polska S.A., that will be used to construct an office-services-hotel complex called 'The Warsaw Hub'.
