Norton Rose Fulbright builds on renewables track record with advice on largest wind farm in NSW

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised as sponsor counsel on the development and financing of the 270MW Sapphire wind farm in northern NSW.

Once constructed, Sapphire will be the largest wind farm in NSW. It is also the largest wind farm to reach financial close in Australia this year (financial close occurred on December 9).

Stibbe advised Wind aan de Stroom and Triodos on a project finance package for the development of the extension of its wind farm on the Antwerp left bank with five extra wind turbines.

We assisted “Wind aan de stroom” (an SPV held by Antwerp Port Company, Antwerp Left Bank Development Company, and Groene Haven), in developing the first and second phase of its onshore wind park on the Antwerp left bank.

KWM acts on financing of Sapphire Wind Farm in NSW

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised on the $350m financing of the 270MW Sapphire Wind Farm in northern NSW.

Once operational, the wind farm will supply the equivalent of approximately 116,000 houses with clean energy.

The KWM team led by Partner Claire Rogers advised the project lenders comprising Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, EKF Denmark and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

Lyon Airports privatisation

The consortium led by VINCI has finalised the acquisition from the French State of its majority shareholding in Aéroports de Lyon (ADL), the company operating the airports of Lyon-Saint Exupéry (the fourth largest airport in France) and Lyon-Bron. The consortium, comprising VINCI Airports, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and Predica Prévoyance Dialogue du Crédit Agricole, acquired the 60 per cent. stake in ADL in the context of the privatisation of Nice and Lyon airports which had been launched by the loi Macron in August 2015.

Baker & McKenzie advises CRX on Supply Chain Finance program for Nestlé

Baker & McKenzie advised CRX Markets AG, Munich, on the structuring and implementation of a supply chain finance program for Nestlé S.A.. The Supply Chain Finance program allows suppliers to sell their claims against Nestlé at a favorable price before maturity. The strategic objective of the program is to further strengthen the long-term collaboration between Nestlé and its suppliers. CRX is launching the program in Asia, in 2017 Europe and America are on the agenda.

WFW advises Banco Popolare on “Toscana” towboat financing

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) has advised Banco Popolare on its loan to Fratelli Neri S.p.A. to partially finance the acquisition of the “Toscana” towboat, which was built in the Damen Shipyards in Gorinchem (Netherlands) and registered in Genoa. WFW also advised on the towboat’s delivery phase.

Banco Popolare is an Italian bank, formed in 2007 from the merger of Banco Popolare di Verona e Novara (BPVN) and Banca Popolare Italiana (BPI). The bank is listed on the Borsa Italiana’s FTSE MIB index.

Orrick Advises French Banks in €400 Million High-Speed Broadband Financing

Orrick's Paris team advised a pool of lenders including CACIB, Caisse d’Épargne et de Prévoyance Nord France Europe, Natixis and Société Générale in connection with the €400 million financing of a public service delegation contract for the rollout of a high-speed Internet network in the Haut de France region (North of France). This ambitious project – with a total global investment of approximately €700 million – aims to serve 1,159 French towns with broadband by 2020.

Clyde & Co has advised CM International Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. (CMIG Leasing), one of the largest new leasing companies in China, on its recent acquisition of two companies from another Chinese-based leasing company and subsequent lease and bank financing of two new build container ships (vessels).

The container ships were built by Shanghai Jiangnan-Changxing Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. and have been bareboat chartered to MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC).

Copenhagen Infrastructure invests in onshore wind project in Texas

Copenhagen Infrastructure II K/S (CI II), a DKK 14.7 billion infrastructure fund managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, and Terna Energy S.A. (Terna), part of the GEK Terna group, have today announced their joint investment in the onshore wind farm Fluvanna I in Scurry County, Texas.

CI II will provide a USD 61 million mezzanine loan for the construction of Fluvanna I which will be owned and operated by Terna. The total investment in the project will be USD 251 million.
