KWM assists in bringing Cherry Tree Wind Farm to financial close

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised on the project financing of Cherry Tree Wind Farm (Cherry Tree), a 57.6 MW renewable project located near Seymour, Victoria.

Preliminary development activities and documentation for Cherry Tree were undertaken by Infigen Energy (Infigen), who sold its interest in the project to John Laing under an innovative ‘capital-light’ structure at financial close. John Laing also coordinated the project financing arrangements.

Simmons & Simmons advises UniCredit Bank AG on Slovenia’s first ever green bond issue by SID Bank

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised UniCredit Bank AG as sole bookrunner on a €75m issue of Green Bonds by SID Bank (SID - Slovenska izvozna in razvojna banka, d.d., Ljubljana), guaranteed by the Republic of Slovenia.

This is the first ever green bond to be issued in Slovenia. The proceeds of the offering will be used to fund eligible projects pursuant to the Green Bond Framework created by SID Bank in accordance with the ICMA Green Bond Principles 2018.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises Amsterdam Trade Bank on debut shipping loan securitisation

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Amsterdam Trade Bank N.V. on its first securitisation of shipping loans, via ATB Shipping Finance I B.V. (a Dutch private company with limited liability). The transaction was arranged by Citibank and securitises a diversified portfolio of shipping loans, with borrowers located in a number of jurisdictions and security over vessels of a range of types and flag jurisdictions.

Dentons advises Waimea Group on a bond issue

Dentons' Banking and Finance team in Warsaw advised Waimea Group on a EU28.7 million corporate bond issuance.

The funds raised from the bond issue will be used for the construction of 12 Class A units in two modern logistics parks in Poland - Waimea Logistic Park Bydgoszcz and Waimea Logistic Park Stargard. The planned complexes will offer a total area of about 90,000 sq.m. to let in Bydgoszcz and about 80,000 sq.m.in Stargard.

White & Case Advises Nexif Energy on Australian Wind Farm Expansion

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Nexif Energy on the development and senior and structurally subordinated project financing for the expansion of Lincoln Gap Wind Farm in South Australia.

This phase of the project will add 86 MW of generating capacity to the 126 MW of capacity already under construction at the site, located just outside Port Augusta in South Australia. Nexif Energy is backed by Denham Capital, a global energy and resources private equity firm.
 

White & Case Advises VTB Bank (Europe) SE on Financing for Acquisition of Largest Chemical Plant in Romania

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised on the successful extension of the financing for Romanian chemical producer Chimcomplex SA, arranged by Frankfurt-based VTB Bank (Europe) SE together with Special Investments Group of Credit Suisse AG, for the acquisition of certain assets and of the business of Oltchim S.A.

White & Case acted as international and English law adviser to VTB Bank (Europe) SE in its roles as arranger, facility agent and lender, coordinating with Romanian law firm Stratulat Albulescu on Romanian aspects.

WFW advises on first green loan to Asia Pacific shipping company

Matheson Advises on Innovative Irish Auto Loan Securitisation

Matheson advised Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch as Arranger and Lead Manager, in relation to the €138 million asset backed securities issued by Citizen Irish Auto Receivables Trust 2018 DAC in December 2018. The transaction represents the second public securitisation by First Citizen Finance DAC. The transaction is a 12 month revolving cash securitisation of car loans (hire purchase contracts and leases) extended to Irish borrowers by First Citizen Finance DAC. The Class A Notes were rated AAA / Aaa by S&P and Moody’s respectively.

Zephyrus Aviation Capital, a fleet management solutions provider focused on older and end-of-life aircraft and engine leasing & trading, announced that it has closed the Company's first structured ABS financing, ZCAP 2018-1.  Zephyrus Capital Aviation Partners 2018-1 Ltd and Zephyrus Capital Aviation Partners 2018-1 LLC will borrow $336.6m, which will be used to finance the acquisition of a diversified portfolio of 21 in-production, predominantly narrow-body aircraft on lease to 19 lessees in 14 countries, from Dublin-based Avolon.
