Attarat Power Company and the project sponsors - execution of EPC contract for Jordan oil shale project

Slaughter and May advised Attarat Power Company (APCO) and the project sponsors, Eesti Energia AS and YTL Power International Berhad, on a fixed price engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC Contract) with Guangdong Power Engineering Corp. of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. The EPC Contract was entered into on 31 October 2014 and is for the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction and commissioning of a 470 megawatt (net) oil shale-fired power station (the Plant) at Attarat um Ghudran, Jordan on a turnkey basis.

The shareholders of Retail Estates, a Belgian REIT specialised in peripheral retail properties and listed on Euronext Brussels, approved the change of status from a “public real estate investment company” (“openbare vastgoedbevak / sicafi publique”) into a “public regulated real estate company” (“openbare gereglementeerde vastgoedvennootschap / société immobilière réglementée publique”).

The Squire Patton Boggs International Public Policy team has been appointed to advise the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) on the creation of the first national branding campaign for Tanzania. ‘Brand Tanzania,’ sponsored by the Government of Tanzania, will promote Tanzania and its products globally, with the aim to attract trade and investment and stimulate tourism.

Riverstone Holdings Agrees to Acquire Proserv Group Inc. in Financed Acquisition

The Firm is representing Riverstone Holdings LLC (Riverstone) in connection with the financing relating to the definitive agreement pursuant to which an affiliate of Riverstone has agreed to acquire Proserv Group Inc. (Proserv) from investment funds affiliated with Intervale Capital (Intervale), Weatherford International (Weatherford) and certain minority shareholders.  Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to certain regulatory approvals and is expected to close by December.

Milbank Advises Lion Group in $1.2 Billion Aircraft Engine Purchase, Support and Maintenance agreement with CFM International

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP acted as international counsel to Indonesia-based Lion Group in its $1.2 billion purchase of 124 jet engines from aircraft engine maker CFM International.  The deal includes development of a multimillion-dollar maintenance facility and implementation of a long-term engine parts and repair consultancy.
