Pinsent Masons advises Connect Roads consortium on AWPR/B-T Project

Pinsent Masons is advising the Connect Roads consortium which has been selected as preferred bidder to deliver the AWPR/B-T project in north-east Scotland.

The Scottish Government announced that the consortium, comprising Balfour Beatty Investments, Carillion Private Finance and Galliford Try Investments, had been successful in its bid to construct the project, which is estimated to be in the region of £745 million.

First Certificate of Independence in Poland Granted

The first certificate in Poland to confirm the fulfillment of the criteria of independence provided for in Art. 9d Sec. 1a of the Energy Law was issued to PSE on June 4, 2014 by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office. This was the culmination of several months of work in which PSE was supported by Dentons lawyers: Arkadiusz Krasnodebski, Wojciech Boguslawski, Michal Motylewski and Zbigniew Stasiak.

Yacht Squadron Racing Limited - British challenge for the 35th America’s Cup

Slaughter and May advised in relation to the British challenge by Yacht Squadron Racing Limited (Squadron Racing) (a new club created by the members of the Royal Yacht Squadron) for the 35th America’s Cup to be staged in 2017. Sir Ben Ainslie’s team (Ben Ainslie Racing) will be running the challenge on behalf of Squadron Racing. Ben Ainslie Racing is a talented British team seeking to bring the America’s Cup back to Britain for the first time since it was launched in 1851. The bid was launched today by the Duchess of Cambridge at Greenwich National Maritime Museum.

HFW advises Jersey Harbours on proposed incorporation of Ports of Jersey

Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has advised Jersey Harbours on the proposed incorporation of Jersey Airport and Jersey Harbours into a single limited company, "Ports of Jersey", which would be wholly owned by the States of Jersey.

Earlier this year, an HFW team, led by Senior Associate Matthew Gore working with Partner Alexis Kyriakoulis, prepared a report for Jersey Harbours on the draft legislation, with advice and case studies relating to port incorporation programmes and concessions.

IMG's German subsidiary, International Management Group GmbH (IMG GmbH) will in future assume responsibility for the entire marketing of the successful DKB Handball Bundesliga team.

Seadrill and North Atlantic Drilling - Investment and Co-operation Agreement with Rosneft

Slaughter and May is advising North Atlantic Drilling Ltd. (NADL) and Seadrill Limited (Seadrill) on a long term Investment and Co-operation Agreement with Rosneft to pursue growth opportunities offshore and onshore in the Russian drilling market.

As part of the arrangements, which were announced on 26 May 2014, NADL will enter the onshore drilling market in Russia and enter into contracts for up to 9 offshore drilling units with a total commitment of 35 rig years. In addition, Rosneft will acquire a significant equity stake in NADL.
