Ashurst advises Lamprell on major Saudi maritime yard joint venture

Ashurst advised Lamprell Plc, a leading provider of diversified fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the global energy industries, on a conditional agreement with partners Saudi Aramco, Bahri, and Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. to participate in a joint venture with respect to the establishment, development and operation of a maritime yard for the construction, maintenance and repair of offshore drilling rigs and vessels.

Ashurst advises RateSetter on A$20m partnership with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation

Ashurst has advised peer-to-peer lending platform operator, RateSetter, on an arrangement with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) who will invest A$20 million to fund "green loans".

The green loans will fund households and businesses wanting to buy clean energy products and represents a unique partnership between a government authority and a leading fintech lending platform.

DWF advises Coillte group on €68 million Joint Venture with Accsys Technologies and BP

DWF has advised MEDITE, a division of the Irish State forestry agency, Coillte, on an innovative partnership deal that will see MEDITE collaborate through joint ventures with Accsys Technologies and BP to develop the world’s first Tricoya wood chip manufacturing plant in Hull, UK.

The transaction also involved investment by the Business Growth Fund and AlphaGen Volantis, with further project financing provided by the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Macfarlanes advises Ancala Partners on joint venture with Peel Group

Macfarlanes has advised London-based infrastructure investment manager Ancala Partners LLP (Ancala) on its joint venture with Peel Group, a private real estate investment company headquartered in Manchester.

Ancala has acquired a 50 per cent stake in Peel Group’s existing utilities business to launch a new joint venture, Leep Utilities. This multi-utility operator will expand on Peel Group’s current platform, providing investment opportunities to capitalise on the growth in independent gas, electricity, district heating and water networks.

Gowling WLG advises AstraZeneca on transaction for respiratory treatments

Gowling WLG's Life Sciences team has assisted global pharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca on its collaboration with Pieris Pharmaceuticals.

The partnership will accelerate the development and commercialisation of a new Anticalin-based inhaled treatment for respiratory diseases. The deal relates to novel inhaled drugs that leverage Pieris’ Anticalin® platform, including its lead preclinical drug candidate, PRS-060.

Partner Patrick Duxbury and senior associate Nick Smee worked with AstraZeneca senior counsel, Ulrika Lilja Stevall on the transaction.

The Firm represented China Huaxin Post & Telecommunication Economy Development Center ("China Huaxin") in connection with the formation of Nokia Shanghai Bell Joint Venture as a result of Nokia’s acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent and subsequent integration of Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell Co. Ltd. (ASB), a joint venture between Alcatel-Lucent and Huaxin, and Nokia's China business. ASB will be renamed Nokia Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd.
