Eversheds advises Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust on flagship warehouse deal

Eversheds has advised the £480m Airport Industrial Property Unit Trust (AIPUT), on exchanging contracts with Kuehne + Nagel to deliver a 130,500 sq ft flagship warehouse at London Heathrow Airport.

Kuehne + Nagel, a global transportation and logistics company based in Switzerland, has committed to take occupation of AIPUT’s 12,125 sqm warehouse at the Heathrow South Cargo Centre (HSCC).

Shoosmiths real estate team advises on 130 Colmore Row restaurant move

Jason Jackson and Catherine Hood of national law firm Shoosmiths in Birmingham have acted for the landlord and their advisors on the let of 130 Colmore Row in the city centre.

The landmark building, on the corner of Colmore Row and Waterloo Street, overlooking Victoria Square, was previously owned by Birmingham City Council.

It was purchased by a Chinese-led consortium, with the assistance of Birmingham property developers Court Collaboration and local lawyer James Ng, in a multi-million pound deal in February of this year.

Linklaters closed the sale-leaseback with W. P. Carey for their property in Krakow

Linklaters has acted for one of W. P. Carey's managed non-traded REITs on the EUR 9.7 million sale-leaseback of an office/R&D facility with Nokia Solutions and Networks. The transaction represents W. P. Carey's second deal in Poland this year following back in March, when the company had completed the acquisition of Lipowy Office Park, which serves as Bank Pekao’s headquarters, in Warsaw.

WFW Asia Practice advises Nam Cheong in relation to a Mexican financial lease for an offshore support vessel

Watson, Farley & Williams Asia Practice LLP (“WFWAP”), Singapore, acted as English law and lead counsel for Nam Cheong in relation to the leasing of an offshore support vessel (“OSV”) by way of a Mexican financial leasing structure and the sale of the OSV to a customer based in Latin America.

Nam Cheong, which is listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange, is Malaysia’s largest offshore marine group specialising in the building of OSVs.

The Clothworkers' Company - redevelopment of 120 Fenchurch Street

Slaughter and May advised The Clothworkers’ Company in connection with the proposed redevelopment by Generali, the Italian insurer, of the island site known as 120 Fenchurch Street, London EC3. The transaction involved the acquisition of freehold land by the Clothworkers and the grant of a new 200 year ground lease to Generali.

Generali proposes to build a new 420,000 sq.ft office development which will predominantly be let as the new City headquarters of M&G.

Phoenix letting sets Reading property market on fire

Shoosmiths' real estate team has acted for Xafinity Consulting, in a deal that will see the company relocate from Greyfriars Road in Reading to Phoenix, a prestigious new office on Station Hill.

Xafinity, one of the UK's leading pensions and employment benefits specialists, will take the entire second and third floors of the new office development situated next to Reading railway station, providing a total of 20,521 sq ft of office space.

White & Case Advises Icade on Major Lease for KPMG

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised listed real estate investment company Icade on the 12.5-year lease agreement with auditory and consultancy firm KPMG for 40,468 square metres of office space in the EQHO tower, La Défense.

The lease will come into effect on April 1, 2015 upon completion of installation works by KPMG.

The White & Case team in Paris which advised Icade was led by partner Brice Engel with support from associate Louise Duvernois.
