McDermott Will & Emery Advises Sogetrel on Acquisition of Eryma Group

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery advised Sogetrel, a French network and communication systems integrator, on the acquisition of Eryma Group, an electronic security subsidiary of Euronext-listed SFPI.

The new entity is estimated to have a turnover of EUR 400m, including EUR 70m in the safety sector, and employ 3,300 staff. Eryma employs 285 people and has a turnover of EUR 38m.

With this transaction, Sogetrel will expand its network of national agencies and consolidate its position in major national accounts sector.

Davis Polk Advises China Vanke on Its Participation in the Acquisition of Global Logistics

Davis Polk is advising China Vanke Co. in connection with its participation in a consortium to acquire all of the equity interests of Global Logistics Properties Ltd. (GLP) for approximately $11.6 billion. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Golvpoolen is the leading Nordic online flooring and bathroom retailer.

Kirkland & Ellis Advises Consortium on US$11.6 Billion Acquisition of Global Logistic Properties

Kirkland represents a consortium comprised of HOPU Investment Management, Hillhouse Capital Management, founder Ming Mei’s SMG, Bank of China Group Investment and China Vanke Co. or their affiliated entities in its proposed US$11.6 billion acquisition of Singapore-listed Global Logistic Properties Limited (GLP). GLP is Asia’s leading warehouse operator with a multi-billion dollar portfolio of assets spread across China, Japan, Brazil and the United States. The transaction, which was announced on July 14, is the largest private equity-led takeover in Asia to date.

DLA Piper advises Falck Renewables S.p.A. on entrance to Norwegian market

DLA Piper has advised the Italian listed company, Falck Renewables S.p.A., on an agreement with Svelgen Kraft Holding AS, a Norwegian power generation company with a strong track record in renewable energy, to acquire a majority participation into Vestavind Kraft AS.

Vestavind Kraft AS holds two wind power consented projects in Norway – Hennøy and Okla with capacity of approximately 70MW.

The team from DLA Piper was led by Kaare Oftedal (Oslo, Partner) and Fredrik Lindblom (Oslo, Partner).

Allen & Overy advises on acquisition of High Speed 1

Allen & Overy is advising a consortium comprising InfraRed, Equitix and the National Pension Service of Korea (managed by InfraRed) on its acquisition of 100% of the HS1 group from pensions funds Borealis and the Ontario Teachers.

HS1 operates and maintains the track and infrastructure on the 67-mile high-speed rail line between London St Pancras International station and the Channel tunnel, including the four stations served by the route. The high-speed passenger railway carries Eurostar and Southeastern commuter services, used by about 20 million passengers a year.

Hong Kong: Leading international law firm Clifford Chance advised consumer sector focused private equity firm Cassia Investments Limited on its subscription of shares into Shanghai Tang Group Ltd., a special purpose vehicle ultimately controlled by Italian fashion entrepreneur Alessandro Bastagli; and the subsequent acquisition by Shanghai Tang Group Ltd. of Hong Kong luxury fashion house Shanghai Tang group from Richemont International Holdings S.A.. The Shanghai Tang group has key operations in Hong Kong, Singapore and mainland China.
