Hengeler Mueller advises ETD on acquisition of REIFF's Tyre and Automotive Technology division

London-based European Tyres Distribution Limited (“ETD”) today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with REIFF, a German family-owned company based in Reutlingen, to acquire its Tyre and Automotive Technology division. ETD, a strategic platform company based in the UK and owned by Bain Capital Private Equity (a leading global private investment firm), owns the Fintyre Group, a leading distributor of replacement tyres in Italy. The acquisition is in line with the goal of improving the positioning across the highly fragmented European tyre distribution sector.

Hannes Snellman Counsel to Scandic in the Acquisition of Restel’s Hotel Operations in Finland (Transaction Value EUR 114.5 million)

Scandic Hotels Group has signed an agreement to acquire Restel’s hotel operations in Finland for EUR 114.5 million in cash. Through the acquisition, Scandic will strengthen its position as the leading hotel company in the Nordic countries and become the largest hotel operator in Finland. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

WFW advises Vattenfall on entry into UK energy retail market with acquisition of ISupplyEnergy

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised long-standing client Vattenfall on its acquisition of UK gas and electricity supply business ISupplyEnergy.

 WFW has been advising Swedish state owned utility Vattenfall, which has invested more than £3bn into building one of the UK’s leading wind energy businesses, since 2009. Vattenfall has also recently branched out into solar PV, battery storage and business to business sales.

KKR to Acquire A-Gas

Simpson Thacher is representing KKR in connection with its acquisition of A-Gas, a leading expert in the lifecycle management of specialty gases and chemicals, from LDC. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

DLA Piper has advised ABRY Partners and its investee company, AddSecure, on the cross-border acquisition of Chiron Security Communications, with the transaction expected to complete in July 2017. Freshfields advises CVC Capital Partners on the acquisition of QA Group

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) is advising CVC Capital Partners (‘CVC’), one of the world’s leading private equity and investment advisory firms, on the acquisition by CVC Fund VI of QA Group (‘QA’) from funds managed by Bregal Capital LLP and advised by EMK Capital LLP. QA’s existing management team will retain a significant stake in QA. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Vinge advises Generic Sweden AB (publ), which is listed on First North, in connection with the sale of its consultancy business Generic Systems Sweden AB to MSC Group AB (publ). Generic Sweden's divestment of the consultancy business focuses the group's operations towards telecom. The purchase price consists of a cash component and shares in MSC Group AB (publ), which is listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm Small Cap.

Scandic agrees to acquire Restel's Finnish hotel business

Stockholm-listed Scandic Hotels has agreed to acquire Restel's Finnish hotel operations for EUR 114.5 million on a cash- and debt-free basis. Restel currently has approximately 7,600 rooms at 43 hotels. Most of the hotels are operated under the Cumulus brand and over time are expected to be converted into Scandic hotels.

Scandic Hotel was represented by Mannheimer Swartling, working closely with the Helsinki office of Hannes Snellman. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
