Allen & Overy LLP has advised Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale, as arranger, in connection with a financing in the amount of EUR 75 million for Kraftwerke Mainz-Wiesbaden AG.

The funds will be used to expand the existing power plant facilities on the Ingelheimer Aue industrial park to include a state-of-the-art combined heat and power plant and a heat storage facility. The construction of the new power plant will embrace the latest technology developed by Finnish engine manufacturer Wärtsilä, which guarantees maximum degrees of efficiency of up to 90% and the lowest possible environmental impact. The new innovative generation concept will thus make an important contribution to enhancing renewable energy in the Rhine-Main region.
