Arntzen de Besche has contributed to Norwegian Carbon Capture and Storage (CSS) pre-feasibility study

29 May 2015

Gassnova SF delivered a pre-feasibility study on potential full-scale CCS projects in Norway to the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.

Gassnova SF is the Norwegian state owned enterprise facilitating the Norwegian State’s participation in carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects, as well as finding solutions to ensure that technology for CCS can be implemented and become an effective climate measure. The study concludes that there are several industrial actors willing to study the possibilities for CCS further, depending on the framework and conditions provided for by the
Government.

Arntzen de Besche has contributed to this study by mapping and analysing the legal framework for CCS, both nationally and internationally, as well as providing support to elucidating potential business models. The Arntzen de Besche team is led by partner and head of our practice group for Oil, Offshore and Energy Dag Erlend Henriksen, assisted by partner Espen Bakken, head of our practice group for European and Competition law, and associates Ronny Rosenvold and Ingvild Ombudstvedt.

Arntzen de Besche’s energy team is ranked top tier for Energy: Oil & Gas by Chambers Europe/Global and Oil and Gas by Legal 500 EMEA.
