Lawrence Graham has advised long standing client Arthur J. Gallagher & Co ("Gallagher"), the international insurance broking and risk management services firm, on its agreement to acquire Giles Insurance Brokers Limited and group companies ("Giles") from Charterhouse Capital Partners LLP ("Charterhouse") in a cash deal of approximately £233 million. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
Giles is an independent retail broker specialising in commercial retail, personal lines, wholesale brokerage and underwriting. Giles has in excess of 1,100 employees operating out of 43 offices in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
