Ashurst advised BNP Paribas Securities (Asia) Limited as the sole sponsor and sole global coordinator on China Animation Characters Company Limited's IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
With operations in Hong Kong and China, China Animation is engaged in the trading of animation derivative products featuring renowned cartoon characters with the primary focus on the Japanese market. Recently, China Animation has expanded its business into the operation of the first Joypolis indoor amusement park in Shanghai through the licensing right from SEGA Corporation. Chow Tai Fook and Phillip Ventures are pre-IPO investors of China Animation.
The Ashurst team was led by corporate partner Jonathan Hsui, assisted by his team members including Derek Leung, Li Jiang, Zoe Lam and Mia Liu.
