Ashurst advises Ardian on financing the acquisition of nursing home operator EMVIA Living

Ashurst advised Ardian Private Debt on the financing of the acquisition of German nursing home operator EMVIA Living by private equity firm Chequers Capital (Chequers). EMVIA Living was sold by MK-Kliniken AG (formerly Marseille-Kliniken AG).

The financing is another milestone of Ardian Private Debt's activities in Germany. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price and financing volume.
EMVIA Living is present in 12 German federal states and has 46 care facilities.

The Ashurst team was led by finance partner Dr Bernd Egbers, assisted by counsel Dr Karsten Raupach, counsel Carsten Endres and transaction managers Anna Zoth (all finance, Munich) and Anna Jevsejeva (finance, Frankfurt). Frankfurt-based finance partner Anne Grewlich, assisted by senior associate Gabrielle Metherall, advised NIBC Bank and Bank of Ireland as super senior lenders on the granting of a super senior working capital facility. Partner Holger H. Ebersberger and associate Nicole Kaps (both corporate, Munich), partner Dr Martin Bünning and associate Carina Park (both tax, Frankfurt) as well as partner Dr Maximilian Uibeleisen (healthcare / public law, Frankfurt) also advised.

In the past 12 months the firm acted on the financing of the acquisition of the Margarethenhof Group and the Meritus senior centers by nursing home operator DOREA, the financing of the acquisition of the Deutsche Intensivpflege Holding by Ergon Capital Partners as well as on the refinancing of the DOREA Group and the Deutsche Fachpflege Group.
