Ashurst advised insurance group R+V on the acquisition of the inner-city shopping centre Weinheim Galerie in the German city of Weinheim from DC Developments for an undisclosed consideration.
The shopping centre which opened in the Baden-Württemberg town of Weinheim in 2010 offers a total sales area of c. 10,000 sqm divided across 23 shop units. The centre also has a car park with 235 parking spaces. The Weinheim Galerie is currently being modernised during ongoing operations, amongst others in order to create c. 4,600 sqm sales area for the new anchor tenant Modepark Röther. The chain stores H&M, Depot, kik and dm Drogeriemarkt are represented, amongst others. Cityjung Immobilien from Essen advised on the centre's sale. IPH Handelsimmobilien has been managing the centre since 2014.
