Ashurst advises two bank syndicates on the refinancing of the Herkules and Homer portfolios of Prime Office AG

Ashurst has advised the respective bank syndicates on two financings of Prime Office AG (known as Herkules portfolio and Homer portfolio). Ashurst has advised Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (pbb), Société Générale, Natixis Pfandbriefbank AG as well as the AXA Group on the refinancing of a real estate portfolio comprising 38 real properties of Prime Office AG. The so-called "Herkules" portfolio consists mostly of office properties in, inter alia, Bremen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne. The rental space includes a total of approximately 400,000 sqm.

The Ashurst team was led by Frankfurt-based finance partner Dr Stephan Kock. He was assisted by counsel Christiane Kneip and associate Isabell Pöller (both Finance, Munich) as well as transaction manager Julia Probst (Finance, Frankfurt). Sarah Watkinson and James Wright (Finance, London) advised on English law aspects. Partner Heiko Penndorf advised on tax aspects, supported by associate Felix Krüger (both Tax, Frankfurt). Inhouse lawyer Hanns-Christian Paul assisted with the transaction for Deutsche Pfandbriefbank.

Ashurst has advised Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale (Helaba) and Deutsche Pfandbriefbank (pbb) on the refinancing of 10 real properties owned by Prime Office AG. The portfolio is known under the name "Homer" and consists mainly of office properties in Berlin, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt. The rental space includes a total of approximately 255.000 sqm.
