Baker McKenzie has advised NovaWind, the division of State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom responsible for Russia’s renewable energy program, on its joint venture with Dutch wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey.

The joint venture, Red Wind, is responsible for the marketing, distribution, and after-sale support of Lagerwey wind turbines. Red Wind also plans to localize the manufacturing of wind turbines at NovaWind's facilities in Russia and intends to supply 400 turbines to wind parks by 2022.

Baker McKenzie advised NovaWind on a set of agreements for licensing wind turbine manufacturing technology from Lagerwey. The transaction was led by London-based partner Michelle Blunt, Moscow-based partners Arseny Seidov and Margarita Divina, and associate Konstantin Khromenkov.
