Global law firm Baker & McKenzie advised LeasePlan Corporation N.V., the world’s leading fleet and vehicle management company, on its acquisition of BAWAG P.S.K. Fuhrparkleasing GmbH, a leasing subsidiary of BAWAG P.S.K.. The transaction was closed yesterday, September 30, 2013.

BAWAG P.S.K. Fuhrparkleasing GmbH’s total assets amounted to approximately EUR133 million in 2012. The acquisition entails some 6,500 cars and allows LeasePlan to further expand into the profitable Austrian small and medium enterprise sector, an area of the fleet and vehicle management industry in which the group already has considerable expertise globally.

The transaction underlines Baker McKenzie’s capabilities in advising clients in the financial sector.
