Baker & McKenzie has advised several sellers, Horizon Capital and East Capital, on the sale of majority stake in Pt Platinum Public Limited, a holding company of Platinum Bank Ukraine, to a group of financial investors, including European Infrastructure Investment Company. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The team was led by partner Viacheslav Yakymchuk, with the key support from an associate Zoryana Matviychuk and more recently from a senior associate Olena Kuchynska in Kyiv. London-based partner Gordon Low and senior associate Ron Kirschner advised on English law matters. Partner Ihor Olekhov advised on regulatory law matters.

Horizon Capital is one of the leading regional private equity fund managers, which originates and manages investments in mid-cap companies, and has over USD600 million under management.

Founded as primarily mortgage bank in 2005, Platinum Bank has become one of the major consumer finance market players in Ukraine by 2012.

East Capital is a specialist in Eastern Europe and East Asian emerging and frontier markets with EUR 3.9 billion under management.
