BEITEN BURKHARDT has advised both the cooperative society for building material and construction markets operating in the Canary Islands Coarco and Coferdroza, a purchasing cooperative operating in mainland Spain, within the framework of starting a cooperation with hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG.
Coarco's market position will be further strengthened through the partnership with hagebau and its services for members will be improved. Simultaneously, hagebau has entered into a cooperation with Coferdroza Sociedad Cooperativa Limitada, a purchasing cooperative operating in mainland Spain. Both groups of undertakings are acting as specialised traders and retailers. However, the cooperation between hagebau, Coarco and Coferdroza focusses on a cooperation in retail trading.
Coarco is a purchasing cooperative for building material and construction markets with some 200 members; it has been operating in the Canary Islands for almost 50 years. Coferdoza with more than 275 members operates in mainland Spain.
hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co. KG is a cooperation which today is supported by more than 360 legally independent, mid-sized specialist trade and retail companies. Currently, more than 1,600 locations in Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France and Belgium) form part of the hagebau group.
Advisers to Coarco/Coferdroza:
