Charles Russell Speechlys advises Civica on acquisition of e-recruitment software specialist Trac Systems

12 Dec 2018

The Corporate team at Charles Russell Speechlys has advised longstanding client, the Civica Group, a market leader in business-critical software, digital solutions and managed services for the public sector and regulated markets, on its latest acquisition of specialist e-recruitment software provider Trac Systems Limited and its subsidiary Zedcore Systems Limited.

Trac Systems provides cloud software and related services for the complete recruitment process, from advertising vacancies and managing applications to on-boarding and induction. Its intelligent ISO 27001-accredited application management software for the NHS and wider public sector delivers a faster, better and cheaper way to recruit, while supporting compliance with employment and other legislation. This offering is particularly relevant to customers across the Civica Group requiring recruitment management solutions and it adds a new capability for Civica.

Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO, said, “I am delighted to welcome Trac Systems to Civica. The company’s cloud software is the recruitment system of choice for the NHS and we look forward to building on our combined capabilities in the healthcare sector and more widely to deliver increasing value to customers and stakeholders.”

Lucy Thorpe, Corporate Senior Associate, who led the team, commented “we were delighted to act for Civica on this acquisition, which is the most recent of 17 deals that we have advised Civica on, and follows the acquisitions of Electoral Reform Services, Nationwide Retail Systems, VisionWare and iCasework, earlier this year. The acquisition of Trac Systems aligns with Civica’s growth strategy in both the TMT and healthcare sectors, which are both sector focuses of Charles Russell Speechlys.”

The team, led by Lucy Thorpe, comprised Corporate Partner Malcolm MacDougall, Corporate Associate Edidem Basiekanem and Corporate trainee James Scott, alongside members of the firm’s Corporate Tax, Commercial, Employment and Real Estate teams.
