Clifford Chance advising the EBRD in its financing to Figeac Aéro, the leading aerospace supplier, for the expansion of its activities in Morocco and Tunisia

24 Jan 2018

Clifford Chance advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on its € 38 million loan to Figeac Aéro, a fast-growing French aerospace supplier, for the expansion of its production facilities in Morocco and in Tunisia.

Figeac Aéro is a company listed on Euronext Paris and is positioned as a major player in the production of aerostructures and high precision metal parts for major aircraft manufacturers and their suppliers.

The EBRD loan to Figeac Aéro will enable the company to benefit from the development of the existing aerospace hubs in both countries and strengthen their integration into global industrial value chains. It will also allow the transfer of skills and advanced technologies and will improve the local standards of quality towards international levels.

On another side, the project will meet Morocco's objectives of lowering the country's unemployment rate. Indeed, it will promote the employability of young people by allowing them to acquire skills and experience on production sites.

The Clifford Chance team that advised the EBRD on all the aspects of this financing was headed by Mustapha Mourahib, Managing Partner and co-head of Africa Practice, assisted by Ouns Lemseffer, senior associate and Aolaia Snaïba, associate.
