API International AG, a provider of digital data management systems for the automotive sector, has invested in newly established company DCI Digital Car Institute GmbH.
A CMS team led by Dr Juliane Voigtmann advised API International on all aspects of its investment in DCI Digital Car Institute. The transaction included API International transferring IP to DCI as part of an asset deal and also providing cash as growth capital via a joint round of financing with an IBG fund managed by bmp Ventures AG as co-investor.
The newly formed DCI Digital Car Institute GmbH is based in the German city of Halle/Saale and will focus on researching and developing solutions aimed at capturing, processing and evaluating digital vehicle data. The company will use state-of-the-art digitisation technologies and also incorporate the latest findings from research into AI.
API International is a provider in the digital automotive sector with sites in Germany (Leipzig), Switzerland, France and Hungary. The company specialises in reception robots and software used to determine and rectify damage to cars.
