CMS has advised a global investment manager and DDM AG on the acquisition of VR Leasing Group’s Hungarian subsidiary company, Lombard Pénzügyi és Lízing Zrt. (Lombard Lízing) via acquiring their NPL and subpar retail portfolio of auto loans.

DDM Group is a multinational investor and manager of distressed debt with particular focus on distressed asset portfolios in Eastern Europe, handling c. 2.3m contracts with a value of around EUR 2bn.

The CMS team advising the joint venture of a global investment manager and DDM AG was led by partner Erika Papp and senior counsel Eszter Török of the International Banking and Finance team. The team further comprised Adrienne Kraudi, Gábor Gelencsér, Árpád Lantos and Krisztina Nascso (CMS Hungary), Thomas de la Motte and Heino Büsching (CMS Germany) and Patrick Donegan (CMS UK) as well as a significant due diligence team.
