Hamburg – Mayfair Beteiligungsfonds II GmbH & Co. KG, a private equity firm held by the Günter Herz and Daniela Herz-Schnoekel families, has sold its 36.5% stake in DNV GL Group AS, the parent company of the DNV GL Group. The shares were acquired by Det Norske Veritas Holding AS, which is owned by the Det Norske Veritas Foundation.
The DNV GL Group was formed in 2013 through the merger of Det Norske Veritas Group and Germanische Lloyd Group. The DNV GL Group is a global market leader in quality assurance and risk management. It provides classification and certification services, as well as technical advice and software solutions for shipping, oil and gas production and the energy industry.
As in the previous transaction, a team headed by CMS partners Dr Christian von Lenthe and Dr Jacob Siebert advised Mayfair in Germany. On the Norwegian side, a team led by M&A partners Erling Christiansen and Odd Erik Johansen from Norwegian law firm Schjødt provided Mayfair with legal support.
