CMS Brazil advises CTS Eventim on ticketing joint venture with Sony Music

04 May 2016

CMS’ Rio de Janeiro office has assisted Munich-headquartered company, CTS Eventim, on its international joint venture arrangements with Sony Music Entertainment. CTS Eventim, one of the world’s leading ticketing and live entertainment companies, aims to consolidate its position as a market leader in Brazil during the next 12 months, and then use the joint venture as a platform to expand across South America.

CMS Brazil assisted CTS Eventim in setting up a UK holding company, the establishment of a new Brazilian subsidiary in São Paulo, as well as advising on the joint venture arrangements and financing required for the Brazilian operations.

The CMS team advising on the deal included Managing Partner Ted Rhodes, Senior Associates Glenn McDonald and Mario Sergio Braz, and Trainee Solicitor Liliane Fozard.

CTS Eventim is a longstanding client of the firm. CMS previously assisted CTS Eventim in its successful bid to supply exclusive ticketing services for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This joint venture represents a further key milestone in CTS Eventim’s entry and expansion strategy across the region.
