Grupo Farmoquímica acquires the subsidiary

The industrial pharmaceutical group, Cantabria S.A., (IFC) has sold its subsidiary in Brazil, Melora do Brasil Productos Dermatológicos, S.A., to Grupo Farmoquímica, specializing in producing prescription medicine.

The agreement between the groups includes disinvestment and the exclusive distribution of products and raw materials over a ten-year period.

Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira advised IFC on the transaction through the leadership of its Sao Paulo office together with the Madrid and Barcelona offices. The legal team comprised partners Andoni Hernández and Maria da Paz Tierno Lopes, and counsel Diana Rivera. Associates Pilar Prados, Nathália Lopes Gomes and Oriol Valentí, and senior associate Guadalupe Díaz-Súnico also participated.

The firm Machado Meyer Sendacz Opice Advogados advised Grupo Farmoquímica on the acquisition.
