Cuatrecasas has advised the Wanda Group on the sale to the Baraka Group of the España building in Madrid. The sale process, which lasted almost a year, concluded successfully on June 1.

The transaction was headed by Albert Garrofé, Corporate Partner at the Barcelona Office, and involved a multidisciplinary team from the Madrid office including Silvia Alcoverro from Real Estate, José María Echeverria and Bartolomé Sánchez from Tax, Esteban Flores from Urban Planning and Álvaro Mendiola, María Pérez and Jordi Sagrera from Litigation and Arbitration.

This is the second transaction in which the firm has advised the Wanda Group after its acquisition in 2015 of the minority stake in the soccer team Atlético de Madrid, S.A.D.
