Danica Pension invests DKK 4 billion in new project

14 Apr 2015

Danica Pension, one of Denmark’s largest pension providers, has entered into an agreement with PostNord about the purchase of the main post office, Postterminalen, and the headquarters of Post Danmark located in the heart of Copenhagen next to Copenhagen Central Station.

Danica Pension has purchased the sought-after 39,294 m^2 ground area located in the very centre of Copenhagen from PostNord with the vision of creating an entirely new district with offices, hotels and residences, including residences with service concepts.

With the purchase, Danica Pension wants to create a new district of international standard where both Danish and international businesses will find the location optimal. A new district with a lively, open, sought-after and active environment with room for businesses as well as service functions and types of residences which can support the business activities. Overall, the district should be a new destination for both the people in Copenhagen as well as international business people and tourists and is expected to result in 6,000 – 10,000 new jobs.

The project is expected to be carried out in cooperation with BlackRock, one of Danica Pension’s financial business partners. BlackRock contributes with a base of international investors and an international perspective on the project.

Bruun & Hjejle has advised Danica Pension and BlackRock in connection with the investment.
