Davis Polk advised Tencent Holdings Limited in connection with its acquisition of a controlling stake in a new holding company of Miniclip Group SA. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Based in Shenzhen, Tencent is a leading integrated Internet services company in China, mainly providing social networks, online games, online media and advertising services. Miniclip develops, publishes and distributes highly engaging games (such as 8 Ball Pool, Soccer Stars, Plague Inc., RuneScape and Wartune) to a world-wide audience across mobile, social and online platforms which includes the website Miniclip.net. It has a successful track record as a leading digital gaming company and distributor since 2001.
