Dechert advised the management team of IMV Technologies on the agreement by Pragma Capital to sell IMV to Qualium Investissement.
Established in 1963 and based in L’Aigle (Normandy), IMV Technologies is the world leader in animal assisted reproduction biotechnologies. Recognized worldwide for the quality of its products, the group’s development is based on the conception of new technologies for artificial insemination techniques. Distributed in more than 120 countries, the group has subsidiaries in the United States, The Netherlands, Italy, India and China. IMV Technologies generates almost 80% of its sales out of its domestic market and currently has 450 employees.
Following the transaction, Qualium Fund, managed by Qualium Investissement, would hold a majority stake of the Group, next to Gilles Robert de Lafregeyre, CEO of IMV Technologies, and managers and directors of the company that would reinvest in the transaction.
Founded in 1998, Qualium Investissement manages 1.2 billion euros from the Caisse des Dépots and over 40 French and foreign third party investors. Since its creation, it has invested in more than sixty active companies in all major economic sectors (industry, food industry, specialized distribution, engineering, etc.). Qualium Investissement is currently a shareholder of 12 French unlisted companies, including Invicta, Quick, KERMEL, Feu Vert, Sogal, Mériguet and more recently Poult.
Pragma Capital is the management company of three professional investment funds which gather over 650 million euros assigned to it by French and foreign institutional investors. Funds managed by Pragma are intended to hold interests in reference to successful businesses alongside management teams, with the aim to support the latter in significant development projects.
