27 Oct 2018

Warsaw--Dentons' Real Estate team in Warsaw has advised Atrium European Real Estate on the acquisition of the Wars Sawa Junior department store complex in Warsaw from PFCEE, a fund managed by CBRE Global Investors. The transaction value was EU301.5 million.

Wars Sawa Junior is Warsaw's first department store, built in the early 1970s. Extended and remodelled several times, it is now one of the most popular retail complexes in Warsaw with an annual footfall of more than 60 million. The complex offers 26,000 sq m of retail space and additional 11,000 sq m of office and storage space.

The transaction is part of Atrium's strategy to build a portfolio of premier shopping malls across Poland. The asset complements three other prestigious retail centers in Warsaw: Atrium Promenada, Atrium Targowek and Atrium Reduta.

Pawel Debowski, Chairman of Dentons' Europe Real Estate group, supervised the project. Partner Piotr Staniszewski led the transaction team with the support of associate Olga Ziegler.
