Dentons advised Lifebrain on the acquisition of a group of clinical laboratories from a leading private diagnostic laboratory provider in Italy’s Veneto region.

Lifebrain is an Austrian-based private equity company, which invests in the laboratory diagnostics sector across Europe. This deal is the latest in its acquisition strategy to create an assistance network across Italy to provide quality services to small, medium and large laboratories and their patients. In the last year alone, Lifebrain, with Dentons’ assistance, has acquired a large number of laboratories including: Fleming Belluno (Veneto), Pignatelli and Ginosino (Puglia), Montella (Campania), Adige (Trentino Alto Adige), Ircas, Res Medica and Pasteur (Lazio), Estense (Emilia-Romagna), Valdarno (Tuscany) and Istituto Biotest (Liguria).

The Dentons team - led by Partner Luca Pocobelli with the involvement of Associate Claudio Segna – advised on the corporate law aspects of the acquisition, while Senior Associate Ilaria Gobbato provided regulatory assistance in obtaining the necessary authorizations and accreditations from the National Health Service.
