Dentons advised ole Media Management (ole), a leading independent publishing and media rights management company based in Toronto, on its acquisition of the UK-headquartered rights management group Compact Media from Lyceum Capital, a UK-based private equity firm.The acquisition combines two world-class rights management infrastructures that together, will benefit both ole and Compact clients.

Compact’s deep understanding and network in the A/V Secondary Rights space and its complementary data platforms will be augmented by ole’s broader rights network, multiple IP services and proprietary data analytics/BI systems. ole will add 700 new clients to its existing client list, which includes leading media companies such as BBC Worldwide, ITV Global Entertainment, Fremantle Media, All3Media, National Geographic, A&E, PBS, Arte and Shine. The acquisition will also see Compact Media staff from the UK, US and Australia integrate into ole's existing company structure.
